The
problem is that some breeds in particular do not have the ability
to break down and get rid of pesticides and other toxins that enter
their systems, says Tammy. Even most groomers are not
aware of this fact.
The chemist recalls, I wanted to create a medicated pet shampoo
that was natural and safe for all animals, even when they lick their
fur, and to make it safe even for me. She continues, We
pet owners hug our pets, sleep with them, sometimes even share an
ice cream cone with them. How safe is it for us if our pets have
pesticides on their coats and in their systems? Its not safe
for either of us.
Ms. Has success in formulating non-toxic, all-natural formulas
with high-quality cosmetic grade ingredients for her own pets led
to sharing the products with her friends whose pets had skin problems.
Her friends shared with their friends, and eventually everyone suggested
she start her own business to manufacture and market the amazing
products. The need was overwhelming.
After
buying and testing every brand of medicated pet shampoo available
and not finding any that she would use on her animal friends, Tammy
was truly convinced that there was indeed a market for quality,
safe pet products. Why buy something that doesnt work?
she asks. Im a consumer, too. I wanted people to get
value for their money. That, as well, convinced her to give
the business a try.
Tammy founded Fresh Pet Club in 1991 to formulate , manufacture,
market and distribute the line of natural pet skin care products
she lovingly called Mes Bons Amis, which aptly means My
Best Friends.
Tammy says, Animals give me such joy. They really are my best
friends. I just want to help people and animals enjoy a wonderful
life together. She adds, Creating Mes Bons Amis
products was my contribution to that dream.
With profits from the product sales, she and her business-partner
sister, Aerian Kerie, plan to open a nonprofit, no-kill animal sanctuary
to rescue homeless dogs, cats and other pets found on the streets
of Los Angeles.
